The Riddle:
Who/what is the "false prophet"/(teaching) of the book of revelation/apocalypse and the "strong delusion" after "falling away" mentioned elsewhere..? (most of the characters in the book of rev/apoc have in most minds morphed into one, but there are five). This one was involved with, or rather, enabled rev 13:13, which is the same as the new wind of 6:12-15 (followed by a pause,7:1), and will enable 13:16,17, which will escalate into 20:4.
The Verses:
Revelation 19:20
- "Then the beast" (**13:1 as apposed to 13:11) "was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone." (Irony: neither of these are "alive".)
2 Thessalonians 2:11
- "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" (other versions say "what is false").
Revelation 13:13**
- "He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men" (which causes a resurrection of something previous, verses 12 and 14***). I can't figure out why these don't ring a bell with most bible prophesy scholars.
Revelation 6:12-15; 7:1
- I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.." (remember bomb shelters?) "After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree."
Revelation 13:16,17 escalates into 20:4
- "He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast" (13:1) or the number of his name" - which escalates into "...then I saw the souls of those who had been killed for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."

** Revelation 13:1 - "Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads. On his horns he had ten crowns and blasphemous titles (names) on his heads..." as opposed to 13:11 - "Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon."
*** Revelation 13:12,14 - "And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed ...And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived."
